I have about 900 hrs on my LT40 running a 28 hp Kohler FI. Its a good running motor. I'm a stickler for proper maintenance with all my equipment though, which I think pays off.

Sounds like there is no issues with Kohler on a Woodmizer. Glad I asked

Thanks!

DJL50 The info you quoted from the lawn site is talking about verticle shaft engines. A Woodmizer and I would think, most others, use a horizontal shaft.  :)

The Kohler Engines WM uses. The 15,18, 25 Hp and the 28 hp all have hydraulic lifters. Please read the manual use the proper oil. The hydraulic  lifters do not like the straight weight oils. I think most areas should be 5 W 30. You will bend the push rods for the valves. I do not think it needs to be kohler engine oil just a multi visc. oil so the llifters can bleed down. and change at the proper interval.  ::)
Thanks Marty
