saw mill parts

i got an old circular saw mill from uncle estate trying to bring it back to life , it has the best i can identify as a gaar scott system that runs the carriage this vidio shows one that runs  the dic. runs  it vertical , my system the spinner wheel sits flat  or horizontal but it was not hook up i can not figure out how to hook the flat belt to it from the power shaft , tryed twisting belt but it wants to tra off and rubbing fram really bad ,and i may be missing parts is there any information you can share ,or any books or sites you can suggest that would show a pic of it  i attached a couple pic of what i am trying to hook a belt to the ling show the vertical one in operation  /www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqUPENp9kf4
