We lost my Grandpa recently, and as I've shared quite a few stories about him on the Forum over the years I figured I'd post a link to his obituary here.

Thanks fellas. Yes, he absolutely lived a full life.

Jeff, I got to have 49 years with him. It's not lost on me that many people's grandparents pass when they are young, or they never got to know them at all. That's why I say, I have nothing but gratitude.

If I am so lucky to have that many good things written about me in my obituary I will have lived an amazing life. Sorry for the loss,  wish i could have kept my grandparents longer.

Barbender  I am sorry for your loss. He sounded like my kind of a guy.  My dads folks were gone before my time loss my dad when I was a kid. My moms folks died when I was a kid. Mom died fairly young also. Been pretty short on family most of my life but the ones I have and a few key friends mean the world to me.

barbender

Hedgerow, situations like yours are exactly why don't feel I've "lost" anything. I got to share so much more with my Grandad than most people do.

Sorry for your loss, Barbender. It's times like this is were I wish I had a grandfather like yours. Mine on both side wanted nothing to do with my mother an I, my father in law was about as close as could be.

Wow. What a great obituary. Like others I lost both of my grandfathers just as I began to understand how important they can be. Sounds like he was a great guy and you were fortunate to have him in your life for so many years! He will always be in your heart/
