Can't be Cajun without Tony's.  :D

I have a Cajun spice mix by Clubhouse. Been using it for years. It's not hot hot, but it will nip the taste buds a little at least. I say if you want hot hot, just add a doze of cayenne pepper. That'll burn good. :)

You can use Tony's but then you will need to cut back on the other spices. If you use the low salt Tony's it might work, otherwise the mix gets too salty.

Agreed about the salty and wasn't trying to take anything away from your recipe.

No problem, I am sure there are alot more recipes out there for the Chex mix, but this one I got when working in Louisiana and it was so giid I had to get the recipe. It makes alot of mix but seems to get eaten up really fast.

That patch did not last long, barely made it by Christmas day.DIL was here and she was thrilled that Brenda had made some. with 5 other people in thier house you would someone besides the DIL would like it. I bagged up about a gallon for her to take home, she was all smiles about that. Someone else took some and a bunch of people ate some. I knew I should of hid it.  :D I need to ask her to make some more. I really don't know why we don't make it through the year.

I understand the question, but I don't particularly like the answer.  If we had it all of the time, then it might not be the special treat that it is.

Yes,I know what you mean. I would not want it steady, but 3-4 times a year would make me happy.  ;D Almost as bad as the time I told my wife that I like a certain sausage. At Fair time these are a big deal. In this area that is just about the only time we an get them. I brought some once at a store and commented how I like them. They was on my menu every week.  :o  Yes,I did get tired of them.

I do like your 3-4 times a year idea.   food6
