Got too late for pictures last night. Justin drove 2 hours up from the Bay Area to help all day then drive back home. Awesome.

However, the day started out bad. Putting the starter row of T&G up, my framing nailer gave up  :veryangry:

As luck would have it, my fishing buddy, Wayne, was on his way to Reno with his family. I had him stop at Lowe's and get me a new one.

We were back on the job by noon. Very good progress for the about 6 hours.

Today I packed up my trailer and going back at it now until the rain starts.

I'm sure that that nail gun can be repaired. And keep it for a spare afterwards. That's what I did.

Absolutely. I will open it up when have time. It's the anvil. It won't retract fully to let the next nail advance.

Got up here about 8:30. A quick storm blew through yesterday evening. About a quarter inch of snow and grapple.

While I waited for the sun to melt it, I got busy pulling 16' boards and squaring the ends.

It's getting there.

Cold couple of days. High of 41. Closed out Wednesday here

I have enough T&G to do 4, maybe 5 more rows. Then I'll tack up some random boards to fill so I can tarp it.

Another dusting of snow overnight. Plan to head back up Sunday when the weather breaks to finish up.

John, you've really maximizd your efforts this summer.
Well done man.
A suggestion for holding down the tarps in the winter wind:
Take some stickers, drill three holes in each and screw them down on the tarp with construction screws using a small impact driver.
We get some crazy winds here in the Prairies, I'll bet you get the same up there in the mountains.
Screws through a batten(or sticker), are easy to remove next spring, and give really good holding power in a storm.

Forecast was for 5-10" of snow tonight so I got up early to head up the hill. I put up the remaining T&G stock. It was just 3 more rows.

Snow is supposed to stop by early morning and highs will be in the mid 40s all week. I'll go back and fill in and tarp.

I also finished securing the rafters at the peak. I ran a 1/2" bolt through each pair.

My generator was running strangely. It would seem to run out of fuel. The electric pump would be clicking when I would try to restart it. When the clicking stopped, it would start and run for a bit.

I made the mistake of touching the old fuel line from the pump to the carb. It made a crack sound and started leaking. So that will be the next job...

I have a little tank mounted low so it was near the pump. I picked up a big flat generator tank. I'm going to mount that up above and let gravity do the work instead of the pump.

John,

I love coming to this thread you check your progress!  Here's to your super productive year.  I hope your snow squall gets lost in transit and you can button up for winter in ease.

Do you have enough logs left to mill your remaining t&g roof boards come spring?

What are yours goals for next season?

I milled up 5 of 6 16.5' ponderosa logs a month or so ago with Justin's help.

There's more now. These will be T&G'd for the last bit of roof and the loft floor. I have a huge stack of fir boards that will become the main floor.

The roof goes on next summer and the floors. The wall girts will go in defining the window and door openings. Interior walls will go up. Then I need a full frame inspection.

After that, the T&G 1" cedar wall boards go up followed by the ridged foam, strapping and Hardie plank.
