The Timber Framers Guild is putting a barn together in Vershire Vt on August 5th and 6th, as part of a week long event.
Here is a link to the info page on the TFG web page.

Here is a drawing of the barn:

I'll be there.
If anyone is interested in driving directions, drop me a line.

Hey Jim,

Always looking for an excuse to go back to the homeland (Vermont), but will be Massachusetts bound due to some work commitments this week.

Thanks for the invite and let me know about any future events!!

They have these all over. There is going to be one in Danville, Illionis soon also, but not a barn. It's a tower. The project starts on Sept 21st. I'm not sure what day is the raising day as they are teaching how to cut joints also, there that week and will then raise the structure.
Captain:
There is also another raising with a week long instruction course in September in NH. Raising day is around Sept. 12th.

More details will follow.

I'll check the TFG (Timber Framers Guild) web page and as soon as the info on the observation tower is posted, I'll post a link here about it.
Here is a link to the info about the hammer beam barn raising in September in NH. It's a visitor center, I think.
This link shows photos of the clearing and the milling of the timbers and siding lumber. You should like to see them as the machine is orange (say no more). Jim
