Title: Norwood Mill
Post by: sawwood on May 09, 2004, 05:52:31 PM
I have a question to thoes that have a Norwood Mill.
Did you git a couple more bunks than what came
with the mill? JR's Mill has to me not enought of them
and if you have a short log that woun't fit on three bunks,
we had to set a stump under one end to support the log
we cut saterday. What do you guys do for this ? I do like
the Mill and when you git the push speed down to make
a good cut its goes real good. One thing i did notice was
when we where cutting at times the saw frame and all did
a lot of shaking and the cut was wavey. Did we push the
blade to fast or blade dull or loss of set? Sure would like to
have more time to just work with it and learn how to set it
up so most of the logs i might cut will be smooth.

You could put a plank down on the bed then put your shorts on that.

Hi  SAWWOOD; I own a lumbermate 2000, when i got the mill new the longest that i could saw was 11 feet, so i had to get the 4 foot bed extenson. Now i can saw from 4 feet to 16 feet long . Their should be a bunk every 4 feet, with one dog and up right at the 8 foot length. I have sawed 4 foot log's with no problem's , and yes my mill will shake if  "1" the set is out for the wood "2" feeding the saw too fast, dull blades . This is what i have found that help's on the "shake's".   JAMES ;D
