There is an old building nearby that is being repurposed, It has a walk-in refrigerator of about 500 square feet.  The owner told me that I could have the fans if I would take them down.  So here are the fans for my solar kiln that I haven't made yet because I don't have the lumber yet because I haven't bought my sawmill yet.  But you gotta start somewhere right?!?  8)

Five fans

Three fans

All eight fans after I brought them out into some fresh air.
These fans are 10 inches in diameter, turn at 1550 RPM and run on 110 Volts.

For now I'll store them with my jeep then take them with me to Oregon when I move there in the fall. 8)

Nice find. They can certainly take the cold; can they take the heat?
Cook's MP-32, 20HP, 20' (modified w/ power feed, up/down, loader/turner)
DH kiln, CatClaw setter and sharpener, tandem trailer, log arch, tractor, thumb tacks

I've thought about that and I'm thinking that instead of putting them up top where it is the hottest, I could put them on the low side where the air flowing through them has just come through the stack of lumber and is somewhat cooler.  These things were new back in the 50's and are pretty high quality.
