I remember my first Christmas away from home. I was stationed over seas. Christmas eve. We were all homesick and thinking about home. At midnight (I was on the line, holding my weapon, like all the other young guys. The radio net clicked open at midnight. The commander's voice came over the radio,,,"Fairford base to all post and patrols,,,,,,Merry Christmas, happy new year,,,,,,that is all,,,,Fairford out." Suddenly we felt proud to be where we were. I hope the boys out there tonight feel the same. "Merry Christmas boys,,,,, Saxon out."
