I recently bought a cant hook & log tongs at an antique auction & this tool was included with them. It is turned wood, about 4' long, 2.5" dia in the center, tapering to a 1.5" dia knob at each end. Any ideas?
Could an admin please delete the duplicate photo? Thx
Looks like a handle for a two person set of log tongs.
Yup, looks like a handle for a timber carrier.
I agree.

Yes, to the two person log tongs handle.
We made a lot of use of this tool for carrying logs to the edge of the cleared rights of way while clearing the gas pipeline line across Michigan's U.P. in 1953.
