Some also call them a ground saw, but I know it as a slasher too.  Used to buck logs to length with a knuckle boom loader.

That double jointed saw arm reminds me of an S&L. I don't know if anyone else made one like that or not. I haven't seen an S&L for 30 years so I don't remember exactly what they look like.

I've ran a double arm. The will cut a big bucket of pulp because the saw goes across almost like a radial arm saw. That was old and had no name on it!

Looks like an OLD hood slasher, or it maybe home made. The guards log home made. Could also be an old CTR, there should be a tag somewhere. good luck.
