Canada Cut in Half

The cost of punching another highway through north western Ontario would be astronomical, it is the Canadian shield (solid rock). Also, because of the distance involved, much commercial traffic crosses south of Winnipeg and takes US 2. It is a much shorter route to Toronto, to put it in perspective, Winnipeg to Toronto by the Canadian route is about the same distance as Winnipeg to Vancouver.

Ha Ha, how exactly does one keep roads, even logging roads secret??

You keep them secret from the folks that don't live there ;D.

The locals will know about them and they sure won't want all the highway traffic chewing them up.
