Took a snowshoe hike 3rd week in Feb and walked up to this big guy catching some sun.  It didn't see me for a couple minutes . There were two lodges on this piece of water. Dam must be 150' long 4' high.
From downstream I could see where he had dug his way out between the top of dam and Ice leaving a round hole.

Big huge dam across my cousin's lot, full width. And with all the rain last summer, started to flood a little over on me. definitely some line trees in water. But there is an upper dam on the US/Canada border that's been active for 24 years. When we cut wood around there, there was no creek at all, you could skid wood down the border corridor wide open like a road. A bunch of wood went through there, that is under water now.
