That's right. Most problems are chain saws wont start. The kill wire seems to be contacting the off switch OK. I even tried to ground the switch with the kill wire with a screw driver. No luck stopping the saw. Need to know where the kill wire goes to before I start disassembling the saw. Or, any other suggestions. I finally got the saw stopped by flipping the spark plug wire. This is a little unhandy.
Hey Jo
In the short term you can just use choke to stop
Kill switch circuit goes from the body of the coil to
the switch and then to ground somewhere on the engine body
If the switch has gone open circuit that would fail to stop the engine
If a wire has come adrift , that will fail to stop the engine
You have got this smiley_thumbsup
Thanks Air Lad,
Can't set the choke on this 310 without pulling the throttle trigger wide open. However that works. I dug a little deeper and found broken kill wire at the coil. Not as difficult as I thought. Only required removing 4 Torx socket screws and removing the recoil start cover. Case closed!!
