Magicman

This came up in another topic where I showed a picture of my "nest" where I spend all of my Forestry Forum time.  LINK

Looking East, the recliner is my nest.

Looking North over the back of my recliner.

So how about sharing a picture of your "nest".   ??

I honstly do not have a Forum nest. Since losing the ability to make sense and retain any kind of focus of a computer screen, everything is on the fly as able on my phone.
I can change my profile okay. No errors. If you can,t remove all the extra info in other fields and try.

It ain't much Magic, but it's my nest. It has some of the things most important to me- my wife over relaxing, the boy relaxing on the floor. A few dogs running around. I need to put the trim on those gable windows one of these years...

BTW, everything I do is on my pocket computer aka smart phone. I don't even know how to log on to our laptop (or where it's at, for that matter). If something needs done on the computer, it's a job for my wife😊

Okay, without any "disturbance" or removal of important items, here is my corner. As is, where is.

"My chair " (like Archie Bunker's) is the recliner with the fish pillow.

My view from my chair with 8 month old grandson's play mat.  My dog is on the sofa to my left.

I've been "nesting" more than usual since Sunday.  It snowed here, most is gone but there's still plenty in the shade and north sides of buildings.  High temperature today was 33 and it's been cold since Monday.  Theres a winter storm warning starting tomorrow sometime.

@beenthere, I like the folding slat top table!

When I was teaching, my shop was a woodshop primarily.  The curriculum I was teaching was Manufacturing Technology.  The idea was to use the wood shop to simulate manufacturing.

One of the manufacturing products was stools similar but smaller than your side table.  We made 100's of them.  Other "products" never did as well as the stools.

I still get requests for them and whip out a batch every so often (I still have the jigs).

Here's my cave with 'Big Bertha' in the middle of things.

And that's my coffee corner, wove that banner, it's satin damask (weaver language  ffcheesy )

I'm trying to finish up one project on Bertha and I'm also in the middle of machining more hardware to add to her, so most of that is still in the wood shop. She's getting an upgrade to make more complex patterns. I doubt that will be the end of the upgrades as I have other ideas I'm trying to work out the physics for. I love a challenge. ffcool

I copied that folding side table a couple of times for gifts-making. Pretty easy to make and used up some of the left over oak paneling I have. Slats are all 2-1/2" wide, 3/4" thickness.

Pics if interested

I like it!

Mine has a 2 part top.  I'll post photos when it's not 23 degrees.

Mine is the shop that I've posted pictures of. I hang out on the couch some but if I've got my druthers and I'm not spending time with my wife I'm in the shop contemplating life.

Currently the view is like this but less cluttered and blurry, but with the blankets to help with the cold-

I prefer the view when it's like this, though the yard looks a bit different, as we've taken down some trees and there's a barn over there now.

My nest although I have a work one as well  sort of like  "Doc's" where I do my hurry up and wait things.

Yes the "lamp" is sitting in front of the window.  It was a Christmas gift from my
Daughter and son in law.  Made me smile.

Yeah, I guess most of my forum usage is at my work nest as well...

Here is the latest version of my shop nest.  Added a new "free" lazyboy to my hoard sitting in front of the wood stove and big screen.  I can cruise the FF, watch sports, movies,GRIT TV, and nap all from this command center.  Nothing better than a toasty fire with nothing to do all day.

@Downstream got any info on that stove? It looks small and I may be able to find room for something like that.

Here is the info on the stove in my workshop.  It is a Winnerwell Woodlander double view large size.  I have had it for almost 3 years and it is perfect for my moderately insulated 24x30 detach workshop.  Back in the "nest" corner it can be 75-80 on a day with teens or even single digits outside.  I have a vent hood next to it that blows air across the top of the stove out into the rest of the shop.  I can get it up to 65 to 75 about mid shop which is perfect working temp for me.  Stove/pipe all is 304 stainless and is designed for use in a hot tent.  I can assemble or dis-assemble in about 10 minutes and throw it all into a carry bag if I wanted to go mobile but never have moved it since i put it in.  I am located in central illinois so not seeing wisconsin/minn/northern winters.
