Need a few suggestions for S. Maine to RI mid Sept
« on: July 28, 2018, 10:33:15 PM »
We will be staying with a camping club in Bar Harbor Sept 5-12 leaving the 12th and heading to a Navy reunion in Warwick RI starting the 18th. That leaves us about 6 days to go 350 miles so looking for somewhere interesting to camp somewhere in between, maybe a few days 2 different places.

That time of year the Kangamangus highway would be a nice place to spend a few days.

when you come onto the island [ to bar harbor] at the trenton bridge you will turn left. if you have some free time look at the rest of the island. its not as much of a tourist trap. northeast harbor or southwest harbor. in southwest after dysarts marina turn left. that goes to what is called seawall. nice ride. and a walking trail at ships harbor its not a long hike
