Changed the engine oil and filter in the mill today.
I got a kit from Kohler with oil, filter, air filter, fuel filter and spark plugs.
The oil with the kit was 20-w50 .
I hope it's not to thick for winter use.

That's thick oil Bruno.
In this part of the world, 20-40 oil is great for hot summer use.
In our winters, that oil will slow down the starter to the point where the motor won't start.
Synthetic is what we drop into anything that has to run in the winter.

Ask Woodmizer what's up.  Indiana winters probably similar to yours.

I put in what came in the kit.
I just looked at the Kohler paper work that's the summer weight oil.
I'm going to order some Kohler 10W - 30 and change it for the winter

I have never fully understood and therefore do not totally believe that oil that should get thicker as the temp drops, can be chemically modified to do the opposite!

I just ordered some 5W-30 full synthetic oil made for small engines.
The temp range is 100° to -20
The -20 has got me covered im getting soft with the cold weather.

That's the ticket.
If it'll start, it won't be the oil that's holding it back.  :D

Every truck stop, South or North of the 49th. has shelves stocked with Miracle Marvel Oil. (Multi-grade oil)
It might require a leap of faith, but you can believe it works!

Clean the sawdust off the battery box.
It will freeze in there if you forget.
It's not too bad to dig out but much easier when it's not frozen.
