Well, thought I'd post a quick first impression that will surprise no one. Man I love this beast. I dropped a big SYP (about 36" dia at base) and spent a couple of days milling it. What a great saw. Stepping up from my LT35 HDD, I didn't expect as much "up". So much faster, down the track and back. I really have to watch and stay in tune with the machine. I have a 2019 JD feller buncher that has shut down on me. I was going to cut a tree and the rpm dropped down to 0 and the hydraulic light was blinking on my keypad. Since then it will not start. It turned over a few times and immediately died back down but it will not run. We've checked the red P66 wire...

A friend recently purchased a used Valmet and I think it is a 544. The Ford diesel is extremely cold blooded and doesn't want to start even at 45 degreesF. The transmission appears to be hydrostatic. Is there any disconnect scheme to help reduce parasitic load to help ease starting? Manuals were ordered but have not arrived yet.Read More

I'm going to be milling some redwood logs that are 5-6' in diameter so I need to quarter some of the logs or square the edges in order to fit on the norwood sawmill. I'd like to cut into logs halfway and drive wedges to split in half. Also in the future I plan on doing some chainsaw milling...
