Sawed some really nice Poplar the last 2 days and hope to finish up tomorrow.
I'll have about 120 boards at 1x12x10. I have a lot of scraping, blowing sawdust, stacking and stickering
to do.
I'll have about 60 boards on 2 pallets. Band them and put weight on the top. Should turn out some nice lumber.

Nice poplar.
Looks like you need a pallet stretcher ;D

Take steps to save steps.

If it won't roll, its not a log; it's still a tree.  Sawmills cut logs, not trees.

Kiln drying wood: When the cookies are burned, they're burned, and you can't fix them.

Sawing is fun for the first couple million boards.

Be smarter than the sawdust

Fwiw that bark brings good money.

Barkclad near asheville NC pays $1.70/ square foot for 3/4" thick bark cut 40" tall and 12" strips or wider.  Itll peel right off this time of year.

How do the buyers want it prepared and how "fresh" does it need to be?
