518 cat brakes

the 518 I got never had issues with the foot brake till today and had none hit the brake again had them went a few hours it was fine then none again could the master cylinder be going bad its air over hydraulic/brake fluid any help would be good thanks

Your probably right. Something else to think about is the air actuator. When I first got this skidder found that it had got all gunked up with dirt and debris and was hanging and sticking. Fairly sure this is what caused the brakes to over heat and caught the skidder on fire. I replaced mine, but may have been able to clean it up. Amazing how fast one of them old CATs can get down a hill when nothing is holding them back.  ;D ;D ;D
