Wheels and tires to fit 8n
« on: December 24, 2020, 08:35:42 AM »
Looking for a set of wheels and tires to fit an 8n ford, or info on where to buy affordable.  Seems like you can buy a used tractor cheaper than new wheels and tires.

Steiner has pretty good prices.  You can buy just the rims for the rear.  Usually the center disc is ok but the rims get et up.      Steiner

I found some locally when I replaced mine and that cuts out the shipping, but it depends on who's around you.  Around here, some of the NAPA's out in the country areas carry a lot of 8n parts because there are still a ton of those tractors around.

Can't say on the tires.  That size tire has usually been available at a decent price around here, but that may have changed since I bought some.  Used is good if you can find what you need that's in decent shape.

N-Complete used to be a great resource for Ford tractor parts, but they went out of business a while back.  They ran a great operation, but gone now.

You're right - sometimes buying a used tractor can yield a lot of useful parts at a good price.  Just have to get lucky on that.  I've seen 8N's that were too far gone to patch up but had good tires and rims, or body parts.  If you can pick one of those up for $500 or so and get tires and rims off it, it's a win.

check the craigslist ad in your area  I found new rims about 2 hours from you north and west of grand rapids near alpine  for $99 and $110 depending on your size.  Can't post the ad due to the rules. From my experience I would never buy used tires or rims.

I've never dealt with, but have only heard good things about JP Tractor Salvage in MO. Another thing you can do is call Ron and Ric at Windy Hill Restoration in Windham ME. If they don't have anything, there's a real good chance they'll know where there is some
