Title: Timber Framing Tools
Post by: CBERBER on October 17, 2013, 11:22:56 AM
Hello, I am new to Timber Framing and this forum in general.

I have been milling my own lumber and plan to make a timber framed pavilion style wood shed.
Thinking about 16x16. But I need a lot of help.

First off some real plans would be huge if anyone has any good sources...
Secondly I have found plenty of tools out there, but was hoping for some solid recommendations regarding size and style of Slick and or Framing Chisels (thinking socket and not beveled)

Any help here would be greatly appreciated

Many Thanks
CB

Welcome to the timber framing section of the forestry forum.

Yes, socket chisels are the best for timber framing.

As far as plans go there are many sources but you may need to modify them to your specific location.

Where are you?

Welcome to the Forestry Forum.

Hopefully you have browsed the many threads in this forum, and in particular those that Jim Rogers has posted. Jim puts up good graphics and as well spawned many others to do the same, such as the postings of sketch-up drawings.

Look forward to seeing your progress.

We like pics and would like to see some of your projects.
