It's "only" 5,500 ft, but it's rising straight from the sea.
wow. thats pretty crazy. looks like a great hike though.
We visited there about 6 months back, but settled for the boat ride. :D

even in my traveling days that would be a no.
Oh man! I'd go up there in a heart beat. New Zealand is still on my list of places to go. I wanted to go there on my honeymood 20 years ago, but it was a lot more expensive than going to Ireland. Maybe I'll get there someday before I'm too old to climb up to 5500 feet.
