Is there any difference between a CS 440 and a 440 EVL saw.?? My little yard sale saw is running perfect but I'am used to powerfull big saw and have to be patient and not try to force it. Frank C.

the later cs440 is a clam-shell design where the evl is a split crankcase, i own both an echo and john deere version of the 440evl, nice well built saws, but are no power house by any stretch, as suggested above, you might try a cs590, great saw, i own two........... ;)
