Hello All

I searched for a thread to give me my answers but was unable to find it.

I am working on 2  Husqvarna 61's that I have ordered parts for from my "local" 90 miles away Husqy dealer and I have received incorrect parts and was hoping someone can tell me the age of these saws so I can look up the correct parts myself and hopefully get the correct items so I can finish these up.

1st one   Tag # 061148   Recoil cover has 61 on it, has white cover with Rancher sticker
2nd one  Tag # 5231758 Recoil cover has 61 on it, black / gray cover

Thanks in advance.   Matt

Just want to warn you on the serial number. I have an old echo trimmer, maybe 20-25 years old, needed a fuel filter for it. I called them, with the model # they needed the serial # too. Got it for them, could not find it. Only 20 minutes away,so I said I'm on my way, with trimmer. They never did find the number. The numbers they had was not even close to mine. But put an after market filter and I was all set. I kinda did want to know how old the trimmer was. I brought it new.

I owned 4 or 5 of these in the late 70's early 80's, i really didn't care for-em. It was underpowered for felling and bucking up. If your not in a hurry to get something done, it well make a good saw. The 162 was a go getter, i owned a few of-em, nice felling an limbing saw, fast little saw. The bad thing with the 162, i couldn't keep a muffler on it, ruined a few heads trying to get studs out. Then i went to a 266, now this is the saw you want, power, very responsive, just a perfect all around saw. The carb on the 266 was very weather sensitive, i carried a screwdriver so i could adjust it if the weather changed a little to keep it running to my specs.
Heres some specs on the 61
