I can pick up a decent looking 285cd, but not sure if it's a good idea. Supposed to be in good running condition, but needs to have a crank bearing replaced.

What issues do these have? Can I install a decompression valve?

So, not much info on the web, what can you tell me about these?

I'm planning to do a little bit of milling, just a few hardwood trees.

285 is the fore runner of the 2100, you can bolt the 2100 jug and piston on the 285 , good saw and good power

Coach

Well I have the saw, very nice running saw. but I'm not sure I'm up to splitting the crankcase at this time.  So may just sell it.
