Title: Never Know What You Will Find
Post by: Wudman on February 14, 2020, 09:10:51 AM
When you open a log you never know what you will find.  This red cedar slab was given to me as a Christmas gift.  It has a unique figure.  Pay attention to the bark edge in the lower right hand corner.

What is to be found inside?  Flipped over..........

Ooh forum ink blot testing 8)...I see the duck paddling on a lake with small waves and whispy clouds in the sky  while looking over my toes reclined in a beach chair drinking a fruity drink with the little umbrella in it......
Confession ....This might have to do with the below zero wind chill this morning and the fact it is February. I do see a duck and it's a nice slab.

I further identified the species of the figure as a "Wood Duck". :D

   Nice find.

That is the neatest duck to have .You do not have to feed it or clean up at it.

Yes, yes, seeing is believing.  The duck looks like it has just landed on the water to me, wings still out a bit. And I wouldn't mess with the guy staring at you. Doesn't look friendly.

That's one of my customers!. I burn a lot of stuff like that unless it is really sound, not that I want to, just no place to store it until the right person comes around. The other problem is that too much entertainment results and no work gets done. I do have some 2x erc. that is fiddle back put away, only time I 've seen that.
