Posted this on another site and wondering what folks here think so I can make an informed decision. I won't mention the consensus there but basically the saw just won't stay running. Starts fine but then quits. Seems to flood easily. My shop said replace the carb for $150. I like this little saw and use it mostly for trimming, limbing and brush cutting. I know it's difficult to get parts so if I bail on it, what do I replace it with? Money is an issue. Thanks in advance.

Welcome! Imho there aren't any modern saws that will match an 011. When was it last serviced? An in tank fuel filter and thorough carb cleaning with a diaphragm kit should go a long ways to solving your problems. Too often parts pluslabor exceed the cost of a Chinesium carburetor so many shops go that route.

I have one myself which I don't use .If you suspect the carb just rebuild it .It's a simple procedure .Rebuild kits are cheap and every company has a web site with information plus You Tube .
