My Dad passed on about 5 years ago. I got this saw from him. With a little tlc and a lot of cleaning I finally got it running this weekend. I need help identifying it. The badging is all worn off. This thing is a beast. I'm trying to figure out how to add pics.

Dray55

I have more coming.

Dray55

So far im guessing Husqvarna 61 or Efco 181

DHansen

Does not look like my Husqvarna 61.

Dray55

The saw was given to him so Im not sure about age.  He got it in the early to mid 2000s. I saw some pics of a black top 61 that were very similar but couldn't see the filter setup.  It may be an efco 81.  Whatever it turns out to be doesn't matter to me because it was his.  I would just like to identify it for parts purposes.

No chain brake? I am thinking Dolmar maybe? @Spike60 ?
Tom Lindtveit, Woodsman Forest Products
Oscar 328 Band Mill, Husky 350, 450, 562, & 372 (Clone), Mule 3010, and too many hand tools. :) Retired and trying to make a living to stay that way.  NYLT Certified.
OK, maybe I'm the woodcutter now.
I work with wood, There is a rumor I might be a woodworker.

Does it have a decompression valve?   And marking or numbers under and on the back side of the covers to indicate part numbers or country of manufacture?

Change is hard....
Especially when a jar full of it falls off the top shelf and hits your head!

Local wind direction is determined by how I park my mill.

Looks to me like one of our mill saws as I remember. They were all 3 pretty interchangeable in parts, but all 3 branded different and colored different. Craftsman, Montgomery Ward and Poulan.
I can change my profile okay. No errors. If you can,t remove all the extra info in other fields and try.

Agreed. Solo clutch, the starter cover space for the logo. 1980s-early '90s look to the top cover. The weird part is the crankcase: the serial number looks laser-etched in a place where a plate was used previously. Not something you would expect on a saw of that vintage. Maybe it's a Frankensaw  :wink_2:.

fluidpowerpro

I recognized it because I once owned a Solo.
I think they were somehow associated with Dolmar at one time.

The chain brake comes off with the bar cover.  It looks like this one I found on the net but I'm not sure what it is either.

No decompression valve.  I haven't found and numbers on the covers. What is interesting is that it is carrying a 20" bar and a .325 chain.  You would think if it was a bigger cc saw it would have 3/8.

Looks like a Zenoah Komatsu 5800 or one of the many clones of them, anti vibe and clutch type shows this, exhaust photo would give the answer

Makes sense now. The AV mounts, clutch, shape of the serial number pad, back controls of the saw certainly fit the bill of a clone of the Zenoah. No wonder I couldn't find a particular Solo model that resembled it more closely.

Spike60

Have no clue what it is, but doubt it's Husky.  Round choke lever on right side is odd. Do not recognize that air filter  at all. Nor the ID plate.

Dolmar  I think I have an older version up at the cabin at least the air filter and spark plug cover look very similar. Decent little saw.

On second thought, nope not quite

FATBOY2017

Definitely not a Dolmar!

joe_indi

It looks exactly like the most common clone saws around. 45 and 52 cc . If it is not a clone it could be the model from which clone saws were developed , the Komatsu Zenoah
