So after waiting around for all sorts of parts, I finally got to start slabbing up a giant silver maple I've been waiting on. Main log is 42" diameter big end, 41" small end, there's a crotch piece that's 54" across, and there's a nice 15' log that's about 32" diameter not pictured. Fun stuff, drew some odd looks from the townspeople chainsaw milling. I don't think anyone had ever seen it lol.

Looks like a good stack of lumber. Been around logs and lumber my whole life and i believe i would stop and watch to, cause i aint never seen a chainsaw mill in action.

Here is a couple more pics, those crotch pieces are huge and should make some nice coffee tables or ornate chair backs I'm thinking.  8)

Crossroads

There are times I wish that I had Alaskan mill to make some of those extra wide cuts, but I seem pretty good at talking myself out of it up to this point.
With the right fulcrum and enough leverage, you can move the world!

That looks really good! Do you call that "european" stacking? Thats the same way I like to stack my slabs.

That's the way I like to sell them too! Whole logs worth!

Thank you! I actually did not know it had a name, I first got the idea to stack like that from the Will Malloff book (the good book of chainsaw milling lol).
