I read on another forum that Maruyama saws are made by Echo and re-branded. The only dealer in my town is one that really doesn't do much chainsaws - mostly trimmers and mowers. If they are Echos in a different coat - may be pretty good.
Husky: 372xt, 272xp, 61, 55 (x3)...Poulan: 315, 4218 (x3), 2375, 2150, 2055, 2000 (x3)...Stihl 011AVT...Homelite XL...Saws come in broken, get fixed or parted, find new homes

And a few of the saws are from Dolmar, so excellent quality in that area!

The 42cc version is the dolmar 421 (dolmar counterpart to the stihl 241!) and the 50cc is the dolmar 5105 (dolmar counterpart to the stihl 261, but without mTronic). Just because you go by the looks shows you are in for a kick in the nuts if you don't show up wih the best that stihl or husqvarna have to offer!

Definitely not junk, it is excellent product but not well known in north America so service not so good. Echo and Shindaiwa are married but not to Maruyama. It would be a good choice if in good condition and you have access to a committed dealer.
