Title: Lumber Drying Workshop at EXPO Richmond
Post by: VTwood on February 07, 2024, 09:44:21 AM
Virginia Tech and North Carolina State have joined up to provide a lumber drying workshop at the EXPO Richmond this April. For the afternoon of April 11th, Dr. Brian Bond and Dr. Frederik Laleicke will talk about what you need to consider as a small operator getting into lumber drying. We'll cover the lumber drying basics, different types of kilns and their capabilities/limitations, avoiding defects and the basics of controlling the drying process.

For information and registration, go to: Website: http://sbio.vt.edu/for-the-community/short-courses... (http://sbio.vt.edu/for-the-community/short-courses/richmondexpo.html)
Scroll down the page, just below information about the pallet design and performance workshop.
Also, feel free to reach out to me for Frederick with any questions. My email is bbond@vt.edu and Frederick's is pflaleic@ncsu.edu

When your at the EXPO, stop by and say hello,

Brian

Thanks for the heads up.  I took your online wood drying seminar awhile back and I am planning the VT Solar Kiln build.

Maybe I'll make the hike to Richmond.
