Y'all need some cows. They will do the work for you and you can eat them when they are done.  Managed properly cattle will absolutely lift up all of the low hanging branches to 7' or so, they will strip off any poison ivy, and hit green briar, saplings, and young black berries hard enough that they will die off.  Their hoof action helps to incorporate the leaf litter into the soil which allow grasses to sprout where the sun hits the ground.

You can't just leave them there and forget about them or you will loose trees, but with rotational grazing under the canopy you can get that "park like" look. i will try to get some pictures as I have several groups with woods access right now.

Sounds good to me! Same carb just tuned? Mine runs fine and will leave it alone but file this in the memory bank for later... These are OEM parts?

Mods are asleep but someone will move this to Chainsaw sub section so don't be alarmed if you can't find the post at first. Thanks for sharing

Quote from: mitchstockdale on Today at 03:42:04 PMI am at a loss and don't know what else to check.

While you had the clutch off, did you check the oil pump worm drive gear? If this is stiff on the crank it could also turn the clutch drum until they fail completely.

I am very happy with my Riehl edger and use it for both green and KD prep ahead of my 4 head moulder.  YH's machine is an absolute beast, but mine gets the job done every time and fast enough that you can keep two men buried running it.

Woodmaster Tools makes planers that you can put saw blades in to rip lumber.
