I'd leave the wood outside and move in.

No, the other end is completely open.

Is that lap siding or clapboards (if that's the correct term)?  How thick did you have to cut the door trim to cover the exposed edges?  Looks good whatever it is.

The siding is 1x8 with a seven inch reveal. So it's both clapboard and lapped. Corner trim is 2".

The 1"x8" are 1" on both sides.

   One man's wood shed is another man's cabin. When my sister built their new barn and house, they built the horse barn first, all I could think of is what a nice house it would make.
