Hi everyone
I am new here and this may not work but wanted to ask the people with experience.

I had a lot of straight maple trees come down I. My back acre and instead of cutting them up for fire wood I was thinking about buying an Alaskan mill and cutting beam it make a bridge across a drainage  gully but don't know if the maple will hold up to weather and the outside. Since it's the only thing I have in the yard and a lot of it I thought I would make use of it. It's silver maple

Please let me know what you think.
Thanks. Tom

Not a good idea, maple has no decay resistance. It is fine for interior use.
