RE:  KURT DUNCAN POACHING CONVICTIONS


One of the biggest cases in years, from Chippewa County in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Search warrants were issued this spring.
125 violations, including poaching of eagles, wolves, and bobcats.
90 days jail, 2 years probation.
$36,240 in fines.
Surrender of evidences including guns.
Banned for life from hunting in the continental US.

 8) 8) 8) 8) It is a real problem, I'm glad the judge had the will to nail this guy. He is likely a repeat offender with punishment like that.

Dunno that he was "nailed". 90 days(Only serving 60, and probably less) is pretty weak, and losing guns/hunting privileges doesn't mean much when you don't follow the law in the first place. He got off pretty easy

At least they did something.  Tired of letting everything be a "teaching lesson". Drop the hammer.  These resources belong to the people and if justice isn't put forward there is no fear of punishment.

Bit him in the wallet, that is where it really hurts. However lxskllr has a good point, he will likely be back at it next year. Individuals like him are not easily deterred, he will just be more sneaky.
