My 208e timberjack has a eaton winch on it. When I pull the cable out it backlashes severely causing me to have pull ahead the rewrap the cable properly after I hook the  logs. Does the freespool adjustment bolt have a part that that rides against the drum like a brake shoe? The square head bolt that is there now  is not long enough to reach the drum. Any info? Thanks

Neilo

The drag is controlled by a little square brake shoe on the left side. It runs against the side of the drum.

But your problem sounds like a hydraulic speed one. The brake should come on fast meaning hydraulic pressure to the brake is lost fast. Could be poppet valve installed backwards, or brake cylinder travel is too far. Brake travel should be 5/8".  You can adjust travel on brake cylinder thread, or maybe your brake band is worn out.

It sounds like I need the little square brake shoe because mine is missing. Thank u Neilo
