Northern Project 2020
Any interest?
Date?
Get together Friday as well for supper ?
Saturday sawing some thing?
Anyone want to give a class?
My mother has had a tough winter lost her younger brother.
So I don't know about food yet ?
We're interested! We had a good time last year.
I'll go for sure
I wish I was closer :'(
I would love to go. Too far away to fix my schedule, so not sure to go; and hoping not to get caught in flooding help like last year. I still have some very good souvenirs from the experience 2 years ago. Thanks Bruno
We will be there if at all possible. Claude, I hope you can attend. It was good to meet you and work together.
Oliver Durand
Depends on a lot of things, need a date to be sure.
Jim Rogers
Yep, date dependent but I'd like to come if I could make it work
Concerning date: At the VT Farm Show this past week someone said that the logging expo will be the 15TH and 16TH of May. If so I would rule that weekend out.
GAB
I stopped and talked to Jim today. We decided to take a poll. What dates does everybody have open? The logging expo is the 15th and 16th of May, so that's out. Let us know what else everybody is open for

Where is this logging expo in May?
I think it's in Maine this year
The website says Essex Junction VT this year. Maine in the odd numbered years
Again, date dependent. I sure would like to make it! 8)
I was thinking for something different.
If guys had old chainsaws that ran or worked over saws and big saws, we could have some show and tell/cutting demos.
Just a thought.
Now I gotta get the big 1-76 McCullough going that I just picked up—-
Looking at a pair of 5-49's but I think they have been sitting around for a long, long time and won't be a quick fix.
On a serious note, I think many of us do plan to go to the Loggers Expo in May. We have a grandson graduating from high school on Memorial Day weekend. Right now, it looks like any other weekend would be free for us.
Oliver and Harriett
For those who didn't hear, the Northern Logger said they have cancelled the April show in Bloomsburg, PA. Go their webpage or their weekly e-mail news to read about it. Not enough exhibitor interest.

I'm with Oliver. I'm pretty well set for May except for the logging expo weekend and Memorial Day. I can go into June too if we have to
Where would that be held and who is invited?
It'll be at Brunos mill in Springfield NH and you're invited
Is their interest in this ?
I'm getting the feeling not , this year for some resson.
What can I do to better the experience ?
If anything.
Thanks
Bruno, it sounds like it was great last year. I would love to come, but my schedule makes it hard to commit to early. I am a definite maybe. what is the usual time.
I'm still up in the air on a date
Because of the attendance issue.
What date would work for most.
Might be a good idea to pick a couple possible dates and let people express a preference.
It always seems like from Jan to the middle of June there is a lot going on. Maybe the end of June or the fall?
How about June this year
The 19 and 20 th
Ill be there this year..
I was thinking it would be fun to 1/4 saw a nice oak or two on your gleaming new mill. I never tire of watching the magic patterns and pictures that come out with the rays.
It would be fun to bring cordless tools and build benches or whatever from the slabs (or whatever y'all call the first 4 waste cut peices) and edging junk etc.
Beav,
That sounds good.
I have only quarter sawn once and it was pine.
I will be on the look out for a large oak log.
Count us in. Any way we can do it, we'll be there to watch, learn and help.
I'll give you a phone call this weekend.
Oliver and Harriett
I'm in for the 19th and 20th. I'll be running between here and CT every day or so for the next week. As soon as I get done with that I'll stop down to see you
I would like to go but there is many projects not set yet so I could confirm only at the last minute. Like K-guy, Autumn is a better moment for me. Last time was really fun to see all those bees working around all with different WM mills. It could had been a real good publicity for WM
I would try to come regardless but can't commit to a date now, tmgo.
Another option would be in September the 19th and 20th
A very nice time of year in NH if that gathers any following.
Bruno
Sorry folks
I had some unforseen things come up this weekend.
I'm going to have to call off the project till Fall
I will revist the idea if there is any interest in August.
Sorry Bruno
That is the best formula for me. So I will check around august for a meeting in fall
I'm a new member around here, have been doing a ton of research with your guys help. I'd be interested in a get together, if the invite is extended to new forum members. I'm hoping to buy a mill in the fall/winter and Would like to talk face to face with some owners to get opinions/advice. Thanks in advance!! Will check back in August
All member new and old are invited to the Northern Project.
I would suggest that non members be allowed to join as well.
So that they could see what a Forestry Forum gathering is all about.
Jim Rogers
I invited non members last year
They enjoyed it
I hope family stuff is resolved quickly, and I look forward to meeting you in the fall, schedule permitting.! thanks for all you comments in the weight loss thread!
Fall would make it easier for me, would like to go
Ventryjr, this is a nice place to check out mills.
https://northernlogger.com/loggers-expo-2-2/
I go to the one in Bangor, ME. Should be 4-5 different vendors of sawmills there.
Logrite should be there too. You will need a cantdog or a peavey from them. I can spend a day just looking at stuff there. Well really 2 days. ;D
