Hello, I have been asked to assess one harvester and one forwarder for use in a harvest system. The machines are the H820D tigercat and the John Deere 1010E. Thay are to be evaluated on the following: Terrain capabilities, Ergonomics, Health and safety, Environmental impacts: soil, water, air, Technological development, innovation, Productivity (m3 ha‐1 ), Costs (€ or € hr‐1 ), Performance (€ m‐3 ), Suitability of the two machines as a harvesting system. HAs anyone had any experience with either or both of these machines? Any input would be helpful, thank you in advance.

The logging forum is likely to find more operators.  @Skeans1 runs deeres. @barbender @nativewolf

The Tigercat I can't speak for, the 1010 I can lightly. The biggest question is what sort terrain are you going to be working in? Size of timber? What sort of lengths are you dealing with? What is the species of timber will you be harvesting? These need to be answered before we can answer anything else.
