I'm on a tract of timber right now just north of you that is producing some White oak about that size...
There's a bakers dozen of em that's pushing 60'' with the smallest one being 39''...

Those are some nice logs you have there indeed my friend...

Thanks guys glad to here form my ff friends. The truck is a guy that contract hauls I'll leave the trucking to him I like being in the hills alot better than on the road hauling lol.
As for my skidder well its a John Deere 700H dozer I'm a dozer logger lol I will post a pic of it.

Glad to see you back, I just came back too! Like to see neighbors (well sorta) workin' the same kinda ground I do. NICE TIMBER!!! I am on the gravy train, now. I am in Montgomery Co. flatlandin it (sorta).... EASY ground compared to what we are used to. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and again ;)

It is very bad of you to cut down those trees as otherwise they would rot and die. ;D

I heard that loggers were bad from my leather shoe wood loving stinky hippy friends.

State Forestry requires water bars, and seeding of skid roads on sidling ground. The "Poplar Police" can be a real pain in the hind end. Not too bad to get along with usually but every once in a while you get one with "band geek" syndrome.

Thanks guys as far as the water bars I have to put them in when it getting ready rain and after we finish a job I water bar all the skidd roads about every 100 feet and sew grass on them to

I water barred my roads this afternoon before the rain came in.....sure helps keep the roads in better shape!

Yes it sure dose. I'm over around hazard a place called shady rest and it lives up to its name shady and wet and very steep lol I'm about to finish up this track though. KY logger did you have a productive summer

I was on a SORRY boundary most of the summer. Poor timber, STEEP, wet, rocky ground, 1 1/2 mile up a creek for the haul road that washed out at least once a month and took an entire day to fix. I was glad to get outta there. We are working decent timber (alotta black oaks though) in GOOD ground now. I hope the weather holds for a little while longer........ Whats the furthest north and west you get??

im not sure what they are paying there i do remember seeing a sign up for pulp wood i think $23 a ton or about that. I always look the place over since i drive by it everyday going to work

I used to haul to Bill some, but Smallwood's is real close to home and Rick is a hulluva guy! Me and Valley View are DONE...............until I can't find anybody else :D

They scale honest but buy on Doyle stick. Pulp is $23 a ton. Cut one job of paperwood. Bought the saw timber and got the weigh wood free. Was only 5 miles from Bill's Morehead pulp yard................starvation sticks.............

Yes they shut down a few years ago but when they was open soft wood pulp was doing good there $42 a ton

I better not sale my old ford its been to good to me lol. Got a load going to mtsterling wendsday some nice maple and walnut and a couple white oak. This job has some very nice hard maple on it for KY hard maple standards

know anybody around that works on radiators? My old ford rad is leaking ive tryed soldering it but it doesnt help. I know a place in lexington but really dont want to drive all that way
