Three new auctions tonight, thanks to Gene Wengert (The Scholar) and Poston and I. ;)
Thanks Gene!

POSTONLT40HD has donated a beautiful bowl turned from a plum tree from his family farm.

This should be a fun week! Nice intro MillRat ! ;D
This Plum Bowl....with Live Edge...... was turned by my next door neighbor, Don O'Neal. Don is retired and has a very large love for wood. This 75 year old Goat can really turn some nice bowls.
I will answer any questions you have. PLEASE BID IT UP FOR THE FF. I'M PAYING THE SHIPPING ! :)
Here's a pic of Don with just some of his work.

What kind of plum? I bet that it is a goat hog plum, Prunus umbellata.
A southern man needs a goat hog plum bowl :).

All I know is its PLUM WOOD.....Prunus Splinterus
This bowl came out of my collection I have bought from him. This bowl is Gorgeous!
you must register on the auction page for the auction. It has nothing to do with your forestry forum login. Totally separate.
Ok Jeff I will see if I can figure it out. Thanks
Who would have thought that a goat plum would be up for auction? Must be a totally new species. The Dendrologists are all excited. That is a big deal, because it is hard to get a Dendrologist excited (unless it is curly cherry plum :)).

Its for short people like us. :D :D :D
Hmmm... more like for Steve Martin when he gets "small". I didn't look at the picture earlier, just read the somewhat misleading text. Now I SEE the error of my ways! Still pretty cool!
Man, you guys are tough :). David I'd love to watch Don make one of those! I'm not much of a woodworker but what you folks do amazes me.

Now I get to study. ;D

Thanks for bidding everybody! I'm not sure if I have anything else to auction right now or not. I had a couple things of my own, but after putting the idea past a couple of members, they thought I should hang on to these even though they would probably do okay.
Yes, the best way to look at auction information if you participated is via the closed auction link. I don't publicly post results of the auctions simply for the sake of privacy for the buyer. They may not want to have that public for one reason or another. The purchaser is always welcome to divulge that themselves. :)
If you want to check out results on an auction, you can easily do that if you were a bidder, if you were not a bidder and would like to see, you should have bid! :)
"The more bidders bidding, the higher the bids". Old saying.
I should have did more bidding :)

Were you cleaning ANOTHER Deer? Yawnnnn. :D
No. Working on a cherry desk, and being vexed by dove-tail joints. Really vexed :).
I hate missing the end of an auction by being vexed.

I'll send you a
text vexed next time. ;D
Our internet service went down a couple of minutes before the end of the bowl auction. :-\
The UPS man delivered the book I won from the auction earlier this evening. I just want to give a great big Thank You to Dr. Gene Wengert for his very generous donation. What a wealth of information this text has. If I can retain 1/10 of the subject matter, I'll have learned a ton.
Has anyone ever tried to read a book without bending the binding? :D

Never done much bidding on the internet before, normally at tractor auctions and that stuff it goes so fast can hardly understand. Now here on the internet it goes slow slow you fall asleep!
