Heck that baby is like new.
I thought I was going to find a ChrisCraft from the '40's.  :D

My Dad has an SRV 220 SeaRay he bought new in '76. They sure built a solid boat. He has it out on the Saginaw Bay most days when the weather cooperates. My brothers and I tease him that when he goes, we're giving him a 'Viking Funeral' in in his old boat.  ;D

Nice boat, I like your theory on fishing lures. (people vs fish)

there are ways to fix the rotten wood in a transom. if you love the boat enough. they get the old wood out and pour in resin. parts must be getting hard to find for an old omc out drive. a friend of mine had one yrs ago. kind of an odd design when you move the front of the motor up and down to trim the outdrive. some have been converted to an outboard on a bracket. the transom wasnt reinforced as much for the stringer drive as it would have been for an outboard. i had one stern drive a merccrusier and that was enough. went back to outboards now i have a diesel inboard

Fortunately we didn't / haven't found any rot anywhere in the transom.  Or the stringers... it spent it's life under cover and in fresh water before us. And it stays in the garage now... :) AND I found a place in Missouri that has plenty of Stringer parts....because they are goofy and many have been junked along with their boats. For now it works well for this application and I'm in negotiations to acquire a complete unit that's has low hours and refurbed from that place as a back up for me in the future or if some one buys the boat who's concerned about the availability of those parts... an ex OMC dealer... I agree though, wish it was a Merc. But for now its serving its purpose... AND to this point the total price tag for boat and trailer is under 3K...
