Anyone use Pennsylvania Lumbermens Mutual Insurance Company (PLM) for insurance?
I'm picking up my LT35 HD on the 29th, and plan on using PLM for insuring my mill. I will just be milling my own logs at first....maybe transporting the mill from MD to KY on occasion, and possibly down to AL a time or two. I might get into mobile milling as a business eventually.
Curious if anyone has any good or bad experience with PLM. Anyone actually filed a claim through them? Hiw was the process? What was it for?
Anyone use anyone else for insurance that is easily accessible to everyone?
My General Liability Insurance is from Scottsdale Insurance Company.
I've never had a claim so I can't say if it's any good.

Does it just cover your mill? What do you pay per year?
It does not cover my mill. Just liability when I'm milling on someone else's property. 1 million of coverage. About $600/yr.

Oh ok. What I am looking at is just coverage for my mill. I won't be milling for anyone, so mill coverage is all I would need. It is $1k per year, which seems a bit pricey
Insurance, especially anything related to a sawmill, has gotten very expensive to impossible to obtain over the past year. PLM is a good company.
I pay $66 a month for full coverage on my mill with Texas Farm Bureau.
I called geico today. They're commercial department can cover my mill for about $720 per year, so a bit cheaper than PLM
