I have used several, B 12 chemtool is good.  I buy at Wal-Mart or Auto parts store.  welcome, and where are you from Geoff.  I also like seafoam products.

I like Seafoam for running through the carb to clean out the gum. It's what we used when working on vintage motorcycles.

The most useful thing I've ever found for working on small carburetors is a white dish pan.  Brand of carb cleaner probably doesn't matter much.

Having several types on hand doesn't hurt either. I like the gallon bucket of carb cleaner they sell with plastic basket that comes with it for a good long soak. Especially when there's a lot varnish build up. Remove all rubber parts first.

X2 on Seafoam. Put it in all my small engine fuel.

The best carb cleaner is a rebuild kit .The components get stiff and perhaps a good cleaning might seem to be in line but  not installing a new kit usually doesn't work out best .

Historically I like to dip them in chem dip, neutralize, blow out the circuits and than put a kit in. It's always served me well. B12 works well too, but I find it's not as good as dipping with really dirty carbs. Recently I bought two ultrasonics. I've been very impressed by their cleaning abilities. I've got an old Walbro I'm gonna toss in it. I've read from some that ultrasonic can damage the check valve in them, others say not. This carb could easily be considered a toss away, so I'll try it and see.

I agree. just have to know how to put it back together! :D  I am sure you do @PASS_AUF   I have the dip as well, and I think it is B12 brand, but it is nasty (good) stuff.  I use the spray for a quick fix as well.
