Our hostas and day lillies get mowed off every year, but Im too lazy to replace them with something else.
Maybe that food plot scheme is worth trying here.

If you go this route be sure to use a drill with a clutch. I didn't and turned a finger into a pretzel with one of these things a few years back.

Looks like you have removed the fence. Are Deer visiting the Hastas yet?

I removed it and the hastas tripled in size in 3 days. I've not walked down to the patch by the pond today since a pretty big bear walked through. I reckon if deer eat them, bears might. Apparently my smell and the dogs smell does not concern this one. The deer have been staying away so far, back on the new clover field.

I was curious because they could easily hop that fence if they wanted what was on the other side. I was thinking that they simply did not know that the Hastas were there.
