It's not necessarily a bad thing to see products assembled in the US (or Canada) from parts made overseas. Quite a few companies have begun to move manufacturing back to Canada & the US from Asia.

It makes business sense to start with just assembly to get started. Once they've re-established themselves in North America, they can then phase in manufacturing their own parts.

I can tell you for sure, all the chicken doesn't come from china. One of the largest chicken processing plants in the country is just a few miles from me. they use everything but the cackle. A twist, the feathers are chopped, dried and sent to china..
I live in the heart of chicken production. It definately doesn't come from china... yet.

The chicken thing is in progress, so I've heard. It's not one of them done deals for sure. We have already allowed China to process a lot of our seafood now. If you buy smoked oysters, all 3 brands I look at here are Chinese processed. I think most of our haddock is to. Mushrooms in the can are Chinese now.

Along the lines of the American flag, its ironic that American Standard water closets and lavs are made in china or mexico, quite the " standard" we have... and my sales rep wonders why I try to sell and install other brands. Just doesn't seem right.
Not sure which came first, but I have chickens and eggs.

I didn't need to Google it Ianab, that SS is engineered and built by Holden.
You're right, I've driven them and it is a very nice car. They also engineered and built a Police Cruiser on the same platform (using the SS engine).  ;D

BTW, Holden also engineered the new Camaro that was put back into production a few years ago.
