ANyone ever saw one like this? He was climing around in the grass in the back yard. I've never saw such a thing around here.

With those colors...it looks like he could be from the 60's

psychedelic man...looks like a small vw microbus

He was just an average size caterpillar I would say, but danG active. I had a hard time getting a picture, riggled off the table 3 times before I got a clear picture and I was scared to touch him to put him back. :D

It was going fast coz Jeff glued the little white spoiler to it's back.

I'm quite sure it's a similar species to this saddled prominent. Not saying it's the exact species, but I've been looking at alot of larvae from the same genus and they look similar.

Hey Patty!  We have those green tomato caterpillars here too, but instead of a rear spoiler, they have a horn on their head....give ya a little beep to git outta the way!   :D

They gush when you just pull their heads off too. That is the way we dispatched them in the tobacco fields.
