Title: Nyles 200 is here
Post by: Rick-Wi on November 14, 2002, 07:54:52 PM
Well the dryer building is ready, and finely we have the dryer.. Now to do the venting and electrical, put in the baffles. Build a stage on the floor to hold the lumber securely and level. Still a week of at the best, but that is OK.. Only Part time and summer and fall, is the main job of excavating, and demo work. Start back to sawing in Dec. Shed is 18' x 60' with the drying chamber 12'x17'. Plenty of room to access the 16,000 BF that will be cut waiting to get to be dried. Hope we planned this right. I know there is things that should have been done differently, But I think it will work fine. Pic's to follow..

Rick-Wi,  Congrats. on getting your Nyle. They are an excellent kiln.  I have been more than pleased with my system.  Might I suggest since you're still wiring that you hook a KWH meter to it. That way you'll know exactly how many kwh you used per load.

Well the fans are installed, baffles in place. I have to give the chamber one more coat of Stay-Cool. Also have to get the controls in a heated area. Figire on just making a box and putting a 25 watt light bulb in it and a thermostat.

Looks like you've done a fine job. Using a low wattage bulb for a heat source is a great idea. People that DonT have heated shops often build a box, and install a bulb so the glue won't freeze during the winter.

Now you'll start having some fun!  8) 8)

Congratulations on completing it!
