roadside cherry trees????

so everywhere I drive I see cherry trees alongside the roads, not deep back in the woods but roadside.

so I came up to the grand conclusion that people must throw cherry pits out their windows while driving down the road

and maybe , they start to grow there.

so how come I don't see any apple trees roadside.

am I nuts? :) :) :)

My guess would be birds using powerlines/fencelinces, and other critters droppings.

Birds and power lines / fences is part of the explanation.

The other is that Cherry grows best in full light. not in the shade of the forest. The road is like an artificial clearing in the forest.

Combine the 2 things, and that's your explanation  :)
