Hardwood (?) Faced Plywood

Bought a Hardwood Faced Plywood online but there are not many details describing exactly which woods are used:



 



 



 



 


A long shot I know, but I wonder if anyone knows what kind of hardwood is on the outside.

Definitely looks tropical to me.

My first impression was mahogany. Not sure of the flavor.

Looks like lauan to me.  Both the grain pattern and color are close.  Think it comes from Asia.  Places like Lowes sell it normally for underlayment.  Thickness is 3/16" or so.  Never seen it any thicker.
